Abstraksi:The author reviews foundational Individual Psychology principles and their natural connection to a group setting. The author then highlights the history of the open forum model, the principles at work within the setting, concerns raised with the model, and challenges to overcome when applying the open forum approach in organizations. The author highlights two examples of its application: teaching advanced coaching training to 900 managers over 4 years in a power generation company and working with two intact leadership teams in leadership development in a $2.4 billion banking system. Finally, the author highlights the value of open forum approaches in the future as more individuals use collaborative approaches for information and support.
