Abstraksi:This study explores trust discrimination tendency (TDT) of trust circle size and composition in different levels of economic risk domains and compares differences between Chinese and Canadians. One hundred Chinese residents in the People's Republic of China and 102 Canadians participated in the study. The results of the study showed a trust discrimination tendency (TDT) and found tliat as the supposed economic risk increases, the size of the trust circle decreases, and vice versa. Chinese tend to trust more others than Canadians do when the economic situation becomes riskier. Different economic risks are associated with discriminating tmst circle compositions. The rankings of kin members tend to be higher than non-family members as the economic situation becomes more risky. At the same time, Canadians' trustee hierarchy differs from the Chinese trustee hierarchy. The biggest trust discrimination between Öie two cultures is that the rank of spouse/partner among Canadians is significantly higher than it is among Chinese.
