Abstraksi | : | Programs for male perpetrators are widely regarded as an important component of any integrated response to the issues elicited by violence within intimate relationships. At the same time there has been considerable discussion regarding the nature, purpose, and value of different approaches to intervention, often in relation to the rather weak evidence that exists to support the notion that programs are effective in bringing about behavior change. This review paper approaches this debate from the perspective of the facilitator and how an understanding of the facilitator's role might influence program outcomes. It is suggested that clarity about goals and how goal conflict is managed by practitioners may be helpful in improving the outcomes of programs for domestically violent men. |
