| Abstraksi | : | Many parents have nursed their children through childhood illnesses. However, some children are unfortunate, have been struek by serious illnesses, and need hospitalization. Guided by Erikson's theoretieal view of developmental stages, this paper examines the various needs of the children at each developmental stage, and how hospitalization may affect it. Issues related to identity, independence, body integrity and a desire to be like one's peers, are examined and suggestions are put forth how can parents, schools, and society help the ill children achieve those developmental goals despite having to deal with health issues. |
