Abstraksi:Abstract The authors explore how individuals strive to adapt to the ever-changing work structure of the 21st century. By understanding how career construction theory and Alfred Adier's theory of Individual Psychology complement one another, career counselors can help their clients become flexible, adaptive, and proactive as they construct their careers based on their guiding fictions and life themes. Furthermore, the authors explain how individuals' lifestyle and private logic affect six areas of career adaptability: concern, control, curiosity, confidence, commitment, and cooperation (Savickas, 2003, 2005a; Savickas et al., 2009). As a result, counselor educators and practitioners can conceptually understand both the personal reasons and private meanings behind individuals' career related behaviors.
