| Abstraksi | : | Abstract One cannot discuss the development of Individual Psychology in Lithuania without addressing the history and social context of the impact of the Soviet occupation and the relatively recent developments as a sovereign country. The focus of the article includes a hrief description of the history, culture, and most relevant mental health issues faced by the country. From this base the author addresses the psychological impact erf the Soviet occupation on the psyche of the people, a conceptual model as viewed from an Individual Psychology perspective, and finally the evolution of the Individual Psychology movement in the country. The content of the article has evolved irom the standard academic search of relevant literature as well as conversations and interviews with professionals and others who actuaMy experienced the Soviet occupation as citizens. The author of the article has experienced some of the events vi:ariously by living in Vilnius, Lithuania, for 5 years. |
