Abstraksi:Our study sought to make experimental comparisons of student outcomes as a result of different approaches to reviewing practice items in an introductory psychology class. Findings indicated that participants in an instructor-led review of practice items derived distinct advantages when compared to students who completed a paper-and-pencil practice exam or an online practice exam. Specifically, they were more likely to experience positive emotions and have a greater sense of self-efficacy and they tended to perform better on a relevant examination when compared to the other two conditions. Participants in the online session did derive significant benefits compared to those in the paper-and-pencil session with respect to affect and self-efficacy. However, they did not exhibit better performance.
