Abstraksi:Abstract No two children born into the same family, even twins, grow up in exactly the same situation. From the moment of birth, they are challenged to answer the question of their belongingness: "How do I fit in?" Early on, the answers usually come from within the family, the individual's primary learning laboratory regarding the lessons of life and living. How the person responds to these early experiences will depend on the conclusions he or she arrives at based on how the experiences are interpreted. The individual's ordinal position in the family plays a major role in this developing view of self, others, and the world. The perspective one holds will, in part, depend on whether he or she is an only child, first-born child, second-born child, middle child, or youngest child. The Farfel family activity provides a means for discovering and discussing the nature of these various family birth positions.
