Abstraksi:To develop a brief, reliable, multi-item measure of self-reported sleeplength, 150 college students completed a new scale, the Length of Sleep Test (LOST), a social desirabihty scale, and indicated their habitual sleep-length. The results supported the LOST as a multi-item measure of sleep-length. The scale was internally consistent, accounted for a single factor, strongly correlated with the single-item measure, and was not significantly related to social desirability. Moreover, the LOST yielded very similar results in correlations to sex, age, and social desirability compared to the single-item assessment.
