| Abstraksi | : | This review article addresses two distinct constructs: leadership and loneliness. The literature is replete with descriptions of the stress, alienation, loneliness, and emotional turmoil that leaders endure. These may result not only in emotional difficulties, but ill health and negatively affected social and familial relationships as well. I highlighted the meeting of those two: leadership and loneliness. I reviewed the relevant literature on leadership and its characteristics and effects on those who succeed and get to the ‘top,’ examine loneliness and how it may affect people in general, and leaders in particular, and will close with suggested strategies as to how leaders may cope with their loneliness. |
