Abstraksi:Thirty older adults (M age = 70) completed demographic and neuropsychological measures, including the Mini Mental State Examination (MMSE). We divided this group (using median split) based on MMSE scores resulting in High MMSE score (M = 29.13) and Low MMSE score (M = 25.40) groups (p < .001). These groups did not differ on age, education, number of medications currently taken, Boston Naming Test (BNT) or Digit Symbol. Although groups differed on self-rated health and Logical Memory, there was no significant association between self-rated health and MMSE performance.
