Abstraksi:Research has become both an active learning method as well as a core component of the undergraduate psychology curriculum. The purpose of this paper is to describe and evaluate the effectiveness of a small Behavioral Science department in changing the curriculum to improve student’s research self-efficacy as well as research presentations and publications. The curriculum consists of three stages: from classes to professional conferences to papers for peer-reviewed journals. Students showed significant increases in research self-efficacy at early stages. This is further supported by a higher than expected outcome in conference presentations and peer reviewed publications. This suggests that a culture of research can be created in a small nonselective department.
