Abstraksi:This research establishes support for the use of exercise therapy as a safe, efficacious altemative to the limitations of traditional combat-related posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) treatments. An overview of the disorder, commonly used diagnostic tools, and comorbid conditions help the authors make a case for the effectiveness of exercise therapy with specific combat-related PTSD, A review of selected current PTSD treatments is provided as a comparison to the potential effects of exercise therapy. Exercise therapy efficacy, theorized mechanisms, and possible limitations with combatrelated PTSD are also examined. The authors conclude that exercise therapy has the potential to be a formidable treatment option in alleviating combat-related PTSD symptoms and therefore should be the subject of future research.
