| Abstraksi | : | Analysis of data from 148 undergraduates at a large southeastern university assessed the degree to which university students spend time playing electronic games and the consequences of their doing so. While academic consequences were negligible, romantic consequences were more problematic. Almost a third (32.9%) of female respondents reported being upset by their romantic partners' video game playing to the point of telling the partner they spent too much time playing video games. Social exchange theory is used to explain their frustration/action. Implications and limitations of the study are suggested. |
