Abstraksi:This study examined the contributions of perceived stress and anxiety as contributory factors in nonpathological and pathological worry. University students {N = 137) competed the Worry Domains Questionnaire (WDQ), a measure of nonpathological worry, the Perm State Worry Questionnaire (PSWQ), a measure of pathological worry, the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS), and the State-Trait Anxiety Scale (STAI). Controlling for anxiety, stress was significantly related to nonpathological worry, but not pathological worry. Controlling for stress, anxiety was significantly related to pathological worry but not nonpatholgical worry. The results were interpreted to indicate that stress and anxiety contribute unique variance to, and influence to a greater extent, manifestations of nonpathological and pathological worry, respectively.
