| Abstraksi | : | The author shares his rationale for assembling a second special issue on the topic of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LCBT) individuals. Acknowledging that the Individual Psychology community includes LCBT individuals, this issue seeks to affirm the still larger LCBT community at four important levels: admiäing that historically, hurtful and inaccurate representations of LGBT individuals have resulted from not being self-critical in Individual Psychology's theorizing about same-gender orientations; apologizing to LCBT individuals for harm done and for perpetuating misunderstandings that might have been avoided; amending Individual Psychology's "psychological movement" by emphasizing the work that has been done to make corrections and improvements in our understanding and application of IP theory to LCBT concerns; assuring readers that Individual Psychology stands to affirm and promote the well-being of LCBT Individuals by recognizing their many and diverse contributions. |
